10 Kings

The scarlet beast that the Whore rides, has 10 horns (Rev 17:3). The angel explains that the 10 horns are 10 kings without a kingdom (Rev 17:12). The likely implication here is that they are either large corporations (which ties later with Revelation 18:23) or non-governmental organisations, such as the WEF, UN, WHO, etc. It is possible that they are government agencies, like the FBI, or CIA, or the Health Department, but I believe Revelation 18:23 means that they are large corporations, because, as discussed in the next page, it is the merchants who rule the earth, that cause Babylon’s fall, and it is teh 10 kings without a kingdom that conspire to bring the Whore of Babylon down.

The 10 kings receive power for 1 hour (a short time). Whether this is a legitimately granted legitimate legal power or whether it is merely wielding influential power is unclear. It should be clear that the beast cannot grant this power for the simple reason that it is the Whore, and not the beast, who rules over the kings of the earth (Rev 17:18), and Revelation 18:23 says the great merchants who deceived the world, rule the earth, and secondly the kings lend their power/support to the Beast (who doesn’t rule the earth). Great merchants who rule the earth can legitimately be considered kings without kingdoms. Bloomberg has called on mega corporations to get seats at the UN1. In an interview with Yahoo! Finance, billionaire investor Charlie Munger calls the CEOs of these companies ‘emperors’ and the CEO Larry Fink ‘pope’.4. It is likely that the Whore actually is the one who “grants” them power as she has “royal” power over the kings of the earth (Rev 17:18) however this is likely to be in the form of lucrative contracts (probably no-bid), or merely permits them to run their own agenda. This is also likely because the great merchants are described as being part of the whore. Political power and influence is obtained, not actually making them kings of nations, but recognising their influence. In today’s parlance, this would be the equivalent of the US government giving permission to Facebook, Twitter, etc, power to police and enforce speech online. Bill Gates, is treated like a head of state, not only at the World Health Organisation (of which he is their largest donor), but also at the G20, al least according to a Geneva-based NGO.

The 10 kings lend their power to assist the beast because they hate the Whore (Rev 17:16) to destroy the Whore (Rev 17:16-17). The great merchants who rule the earth deceive the world, and cause the economic collapse of the Whore (Rev 18:23).

Interestingly, Daniel 7 also speaks of 10 kingdoms as part of the final beast, however little detail is given. What is of note, is that within the 10 kings, 3 fall (or are reduced in influence) and a new 11th king rises in competition. If this prophecy pertains to the same period of Revelation 17-18, then we could expect 3 of the mega corporations to fall or be taken over in competition. Elon Musk bought Twitter in mid 2022 making it harder for Twitter to muzzle critisism of the “new world order”.

The challenge is identifying the 10 kings. No detail is given. Ten can often be a symbolic number so it may not be literally 10 mega corporations. But since the 7, as in ‘7 beasts’, is intended to be literally ‘7’, evidence suggests strongly that the 10 kings are literally 10. How big do they need to be considered one of the 10 kings?

The following is a list of mega-corporations that wield power in public life in the USA:

  2. Google/Youtube
  3. Facebook
  4. Microsoft
  5. Amazon
  6. Apple
  7. United Health
  8. Berkshire Hathaway
  9. Walmart
  10. Johnson & Johnson

I am not suggesting that these companies are the 10 kings, rather helping you dear reader, understand the sheer size of these companies and the power and influence they wield. Apple made $33 Billion in profit in the 21/22 financial year. Google, Facebook, and Twitter, basically control all public discourse. Other companies around the world may be bigger or larger than the 10 kings, nothing suggests in Scripture that the 10 kings are the 10 largest companies, but only that they “rule the earth” and that they help deceive the world and bring down the Whore. They may be a mix of companies from different industries: media, finance, oil, medicine. The point is that they have outsized influence, they are not kings, they are merchants who rule the earth.

Suggestions that the 10 kings are actual kingdoms, or become kingdoms, has scant support from Scripture. It is doubtful in our lifetime that 10 nations might arise that could bring down the whore, certainly not within a lifetime; and if Daniel’s vision is the same vision, it then requires that an 11th king rises and “subdues” 3 of the kings. They are Kings without a kingdom. Nothing says they have a kingdom (nation/country) when they bring down the whore. The most natural explanation is that they are the merchants of Revelation 18:23.

If Daniel’s prophecy is pertinant, and if I were to look at current events, I suspect it is Elon Musk as a little horn. He has brought down Twitter, that has been extremely influential in promoting an anti-US sentiment, pro-mass immigration, pro-vax mandate, pro-sexual perversion, anti-Christian, and pro Islam rhetoric. However, Musk himself is pro transhumanist, and expressed anti-Christian sentiment. Other prominent companies with similar inclinations to Twitter in recent years include, Facebook, Google, CNN, Washington Post, YouTube. There is a very long list of possible companies.

Finally, we may not know who the 10 kings are, there is nothing further to identify these kings without a kingdom. We may only know that there are large corporations that “rule the earth”.

Some have speculated that these are hidden kings, such as the houses of the Freemasons or Illuminati. My disagreement with this is a prophecy cannot act as a confirmation of God’s soverignty if it happens in secret. It is the old age problem: if know one knows it, did it happen? God wants his people and unbelievers to see fulfillment. Peter uses prophecy to help the Jews and Gentiles see that Jesus must be the Messiah. Prophecy cannot be used as a guide, if it cannot be seen to have been fulfilled. Even if there are back-room dealings, they will manifest and known by several signs, and it is these signs that God provides. Israel came back, partly due to back-room dealings, Nehimiah “fought” to have Israel come back, and eventually, she did. The Rothchilds fought to have Israel come back, and eventually they did. The evidence is that she came back, and if she meets the criteria, must be seen as fulfilled.
